The Do Damage wiki

What to do, how to get stronger, and what everything does, for new players and old hands.

Do Damage is a Realm of the Mad God private server. Most of the game works like the original: you pick a class, fight your way up through the realm, collect gear, and one death is final for that character. But a lot here is different: free starter gear, a Support Bot in the Nexus, dozens of dungeons fixed or rebuilt, Doomed Realms classes and items, and an Oryx chain six stages deep.

This wiki is written for this server. The dungeon list, the classes, the commands, the shop prices and many of the numbers on these pages are read straight from the game's code and data every time the site updates, so they match what you'll see in game.

Where to start

  • New to the game? Read Getting started: the main menu, your first character, the Nexus and the commands that get you going.
  • Got a character, now what? Getting stronger explains levels, fame, rank stars, stat potions and the realm.
  • Looking for a dungeon? Dungeons lists every one you can get into, where its portal or key comes from, how hard it is and what it drops.
  • Ready for the endgame? The Oryx chain takes you from a closing realm down to the Doomed Cellar.
  • What does this item do? Items covers tiers, UT and ST items, keys, the vault, trading and the shops. Pets lists every pet and what it does.
  • Which class? Classes has all 29 of them, with their weapons, abilities and highest stats.
  • Something wrong? The FAQ answers the usual questions and says how to report a bug.

The game in one minute

  1. Make a character and type /gear in the Nexus for free starter gear.
  2. Go to a realm (a portal in the Nexus, or /realm) and kill monsters to level up. Level 20 is the top.
  3. Head for the realm's quests, its toughest monsters (the arrow at the edge of the screen points at yours), and the dungeon portals they drop.
  4. Drink stat potions to raise your stats to their highest. That's what "maxing" means.
  5. When enough of a realm's events are beaten (8 events with 1 to 3 players, one more for each extra player, up to 25), it closes and everyone in it is sent to Oryx's Castle. Follow Oryx down.
  6. Put what you want to keep in your vault: when a character dies, it and everything it carries are gone, but its fame is yours to keep.

Use the search box to find anything on these pages: a dungeon, a boss, an item or a command.
