The Divine Forge turns items you don't need into ones you do. It knows 550 recipes: 382 of them make any tiered weapon, ability, armor or ring from two of the tier below, and the rest are special recipes, most of them from Doomed Realms.
Using the forge
- Type
/forge, or cross the east bridge from the spawn into the village: the smithy is north of the shopping street. The forge is its great furnace; the Enchanter, which puts imprints on gear, is the crystal altar beside it (see Imprints). - Stand by it: the bottom of your HUD says "The Divine Workbench: forge, sell or imprint". Press Open. The Divine Workbench opens at its Forge tab; its Shards, Sell for fame and Imprints tabs are the same window's (the Enchanter opens it at Imprints).
- Browse the recipes by what they make (weapons, abilities, armor, rings, the rest, then by kind), narrow them to UT (untiered gear, the Ascended items first) or Highest tier (the top tier the forge makes of each kind), search for one, or turn on Forge Ready Items to see only what you can make with what you carry and what's in your vault.
- Pick a recipe. Insert all puts its ingredients in from your inventory (forge shards from your forge storage), and anything you don't carry from your vault, or click each empty ingredient slot to put one in. An ingredient from your vault shows a little vault chest on its slot, with how many your vault holds (its tooltip says so too). An item several recipes make is listed once: the forge picks a recipe you can make, and says how many there are.
- Press Forge. It takes the fame shown, and the new item takes the first ingredient's place in your inventory. If every ingredient came from your vault or forge storage, it goes into a free inventory slot, or into your vault when your inventory is full.
Only your own vault chests count.
/forge and /forgelist only point you to the forge now.
Two for one: the tier upgrades
Every tiered item can be forged from two of the tier below, of the same kind: two tier 10 swords make a tier 11 sword, two Rings of Attack a Ring of Greater Attack (rings go by their stat). The forge never makes something nothing drops, so the top tiers of some kinds aren't there. The tier 16 armours are the exception: each comes from the tier 15 armour of its kind and an Ascended Armor Shard, for 1,000 fame (they're under Armor in Other recipes).
The low tiers cost next to nothing (two tier 8 staffs make a tier 9 for 60 fame), so forge what you find. The starter gear /gear hands out can't go in: two of a class's starter weapon, ability, armor or ring don't make the next tier, so a fresh character can't forge its way up from free gear.
2 ×Archon Sword→Skysplitter Sword250 fame
What an upgrade costs, by the tier it makes (a dash: nothing to forge at that tier). No tier upgrade costs more than 1,000 fame.

Forge shards and the forge storage
Oryx the Infernal Mad God (Oryx 4) drops Infernal shards and Oryx the Ascended God (Oryx 5) Ascended shards, one of each kind of gear: a Weapon, Ability, Armor and Accessory Shard. Each drops half as often as that Oryx's Potion of Oryx.
Use a shard (double-click it, as you would a potion) and it goes into your forge storage, which your whole account shares, wherever you are. The forge's Shards tab shows what it holds; click a shard there to take one back out into your inventory, to trade it. When a recipe needs a shard, the forge takes it from your storage: you don't need to carry it.
The Infernal shards make the Infernal potions: a shard and 100 of a stat's potions from your potion storage (taken from it as you forge; the recipe shows how many it holds) make an Infernal potion of that stat. The Weapon shard makes Attack and Dexterity, the Ability shard Mana and Wisdom, the Armor shard Defense and Vitality, the Accessory shard Life and Speed. What they do: Progression. The old forge materials (the Shattered Rune of Oryx, Broken Oryx Armor and Purified Doom Saliva) and the Forge Amulet are gone: nothing drops them, and the forge neither takes nor buys them.
The Ascended items
Oryx the Ascended God's own gear, which he never drops: untiered items with a red slot edge, which the forge makes from an item of the highest tier he drops and an Ascended shard of its kind. Each weapon and armour comes from its own kind's top item (a tier 15 dagger makes the Enthroned Dagger) and looks like it, with purple sparkles. Each has the numbers of the item it's forged from: its stats, its ability and its shots' damage and what they do (an Enthroned Katana's shots still pierce, an Enthroned Dual Blades' still ignore defense). All are named Enthroned: the Enthroned Sword, Dagger, Bow, Wand, Katana, Dual Blades, Fists, Hide and Plate, and the Enthroned Staff, a staff drawn after the one he holds, from a tier 15 staff (it was the Enthroned Spear, made from his Elysian Staff). His own pieces: the Enthroned Robe from his Robe of Absolution, the Enthroned Boots (+50 speed) from any ring and two Ascended Accessory Shards, and the Enthroned Ring of Grace from both of his gems, the Ascended Gem of Adoration and the Ascended Gem of Tenderness, and three Ascended Accessory Shards. The Ring of Grace gives +200 health and magic and +10 to every other stat. Every Enthroned item gives a 10% fame bonus.
The forge doesn't make the Enthroned Helm (for now) or the Enthroned Ring of Wrath any more; ones already made keep working.
Every Enthroned weapon fires Oryx's own shots, the same two for all of them, in the same pattern as the weapon they're forged from, and their volleys take turns: his gold Radiance, with the weapon's own damage and what its shots do, then his violet Rift, the same but piercing and ignoring defense.
Dropped from your inventory, an Enthroned item goes into a purple bag only you can see, and it only goes into loot bags that are yours alone.

Other recipes
Recipes that don't follow the two-for-one rule: the Doomed Realms forge's untiered (UT) items, other ways to the same tiered items, a few potions, and items no monster drops, which only the forge makes: the Reforged Forgotten Crown (from two Forgotten Crowns), the Reforged Dirk of Cronus (two Dirks of Cronus), the Reforged Doom Bow (two Doom Bows) and the Dagger of the Terrible Talon (two Obsidian Daggers). Some items share their numbers and differ only in looks, and the forge turns one into the other for 100 fame, either way: the Dirk of Cronus and the Phantasm Dirk; the Doom Bow, Sun's Judgement and Bow of the Morning Star; the Thousand Shot and the Sunny Side Bow; the Staff of the Cosmic Whole and Frosty's Walking Stick; the Staff of Extreme Prejudice and the Staff of Iceblast; the Wand of the Bulwark and the Eternal Snowflake Wand; the Wand of Evocation and Winter's Breath Wand; the Demon Blade and the Sword of Illumination; the Helm of the Juggernaut and the Helm of the Jack-o'-naut. The Prismatic Crystal Wand is forged from two Crystal Wands, and the Penetrating Blast Spell from two Elemental Detonation Spells. No recipe for an untiered item costs more than 3,000 fame. Click an item for what it does.

Selling for fame
The forge's Sell for fame tab buys items: it shows your inventory with what the forge pays for each one under it. Pick the items and sell them. /sellfame points you there. To sell to other players instead, use the Marketplace.
